people do that even when the patient is sedated. Depending on how
deeply sedated, patients are often able to recall some of the

same reason, favorite songs are sometimes played, someone may read
passages from a book, or simply continue with conversation even when
the patient cannot respond (again, depending on how deeply sedated).

I believe Kili has already indicated that she's fully aware of what's going on around her. Continuing purrs for her and Allan.

Yes, I gathered that from the CaringBridge messages. I posted this because of the statement that she doesn't have a laptop. She would not be in any position to use a laptop, but she might enjoy having messages read to her. Only those who are present with her can know that, of course. Even patients under heavy sedation sometimes benefit from extra stimuli such as music or reading or just talking to them.

I was severely criticized on rec.food.cooking for posting updates about kili here. Her "cousin" criticized me for saying she was dying. Well, she is. She called me on the phone and told me so before she ever went into the hospital. She called me and told me she wouldn't be coming back home, that's why I posted what I did. So keep up with her via the CaringBridge site. I won't be posting anything more about her.

This puzzles me. My message did not have anything to do with where information should be posted or about how detailed it should be. I was responding to your comment that she does not have a laptop. Well, that is fairly obvious. She is so ill that she could not use one even if it were in the room. So, I was simply saying that people could continue to post messages to her CaringBridge site (or elsewhere), and perhaps someone could read them to her.
