I can't seem to remember, is it the Lion or the Tiger that can't/doesn't
I don't know. I do know that tigers love water and lions hate it.
There is a big cat reserve that we want the RPCA to come see if we ever
get the get together going. They have lions that go into the water.
I didn't say lions don't go into the water. I said they don't like it.
Besides, they're probably like small cats. Any time you say cats do or
don't like something, you'll find at least one that proves the opposite.
I based my statement on a visit to Tippi Hedren's Shambala sanctuary in
Southern California. They have some lions and tigers that get along well,
so they are kept in the same enclosure. Just like our cats, they like to
bat balls around. Shambala provides the big cats with bowling balls to bat
around. When the tigers are in a mischievous mood, they will bat the
bowling balls into the pool in the enclosure, because they know the lions
don't like water.
