I think Riley is channeling Sir William (RB).

Some of you may remember my dear sweet Sir William who went to RB on
1st October 2000. I can't believe that tomorrow marks the 8th
aniversay of his death.
Sir William wasn't exactly a talker, but he had deep "mrroaaw" with
which he commented on everything. Riley is the same. He uses the exact
same "Mrroaaw" to comment on everything. I see so many characteristics
of Sir William in Riley, that I often wonder if I am going mad. Little
things like him burping as I scritch his belly or the way Sir William
would stick his nose in everything from my curry, to tea, to the
yogurt pot.
I am beginning to wonder if my dear Ginger and white RB boy is
reincarnated in a scruffy, ex-feral Oaf.
