A couple of days ago we noticed that MCG's left ear was swelling up.
Today, we took her in to see TED. She was such a GOOD girlcat. They
hauled her out to weigh her and when they brought her back in, she
ducked right back into her carrier. Doc Stephenson had to haul her
out to see what the problem was. Well, ear mites and scratching have
given her a hematoma in her ear. She has been operated on, as has
our wallets, to the tune of $421. To be fair, we also got her shots,
flea medication, and pain, antibiotic, and ear mite medications. We
have to take her back next Friday for a re-check.

Now for the strange good/bad news. Today, I went to the bank and got
a bunch of traveler's checks. We will be eating Raman, but we will
also be going to Florida on the 12/13th to be there for the June 15th
gathering of the catslaves. Either Mike or his best friend Jason
will be cat sitting and we will be there in time for dinner on the
13th which is Rob's and my 24th wedding anniversary. It seems funny
when I think how last year we thought that either or both of us
wouldn't make it to our 23rd one. We're all excited about meeting
those that can make it and hope that you will be happy and/or excited
about meeting/seeing us.
OK, I'm jazzed. However, if we'd known that MCG was going to cost as
much as she did (and still cheap by most standards) we wouldn't have
put as much into traveler's checks as we did. I'm not complaining
though. It is worth a month of ramen in order to go to the meet and
greet and I would give just about anything I could to take care of my
kitty owners.
