I am not beating anyone up but beating up the poster (a lurker?) who brought the point out seems like attacking the messinger.

I am one of those few people who have almost no web presence. Even if you knew my full name and where I live, unless someone gave you my address, you would be unable to find me. This has become more and more important as employers check out the web to check out whether or not to give someone an interview. Facebook page they don't like - there goes the interview. Web page they can link you to that has something controversial on it - there goes the interview.

As I am fixing to be applying for jobs in public relations/marketing, I am so glad I haven't made my presence known far and wide on the internet.
