I do not like strangers marching into this group telling old timers
what we should or should not be doing. I'm sure Pam knows I'm not
upset at her at all.

Privacy, even on the Internet, is still possible (if difficult) those
who want it should be encouraged to maintain itnot the reverse.

I don't think there is such a thing as privacy on the internet, unless
you are an extremely knowledgeable and savvy techie. Which I happen to
know my dear friend Susan is not. :)

Again, you are talking to people who have been friends with each other
for *years*.

We are also talking to every single person with an Internet connection or
access to a computer with an Internet connection. Quite a number of years
ago I stopped using my last name on any public Internet service. In a
flash a number of people I "talked" with on alt.cats and some other
places no longer knew me. I had a need to do that and in hindsight it
was right for me. Can someone piece together enough to figure out my
last name and all the rest, yes but that is because I did allow it out
and still allow a very low level of identity out in dribs and drabs.
There is no regular poster to this group that anyone should need to worry
about but the entire world has access not just us. I just think you err
on the side of caution: unless one of you told me to post your
information I would not post it. Like everyone I make mistakes and I
consider this was one since it seems like Susan did not say post it even
if she would if given the chance. I am not beating anyone up but beating
up the poster (a lurker?) who brought the point out seems like attacking
the messinger.

btw: there _are_ a few people who know the link between my old id and
"outsider" and I would hope they keep it to themselves.
