Tabitha Cain had fed a feral cat she called Wild Oats for several
years, but, after the cat got its head stuck in a peanut butter
jar, she was unable to capture the cat and free it from the jar.

My god! How could the poor thing breathe? Well, obviously, it could,
but I'm surprised it didn't suffocate, let alone go hungry. Or break
the glass somehow and get seriously injured.

Not glass I know but that's the reason I always crush cans before
throwing them away, the thought of any animal getting stuck in them
is horrible.

Yeah, I always cut any ring of plastic so that it's not a closed
circle anymore. I hear terrible stories of birds and other small
animals finding plastic trash like this in landfills, and getting
caught in a closed plastic ring. (Like the kind that hold a 6-pack of
soda or beer together, or a single ring on the top of a milk bottle,
etc.) Also, this stuff ends up
in the ocean, causing agony to sea animals. Always cut plastic rings!!

Yes, I do that as well, though I don't buy many things that have them.
