would probably be some people who, for whatever reason, couldn't
finish their meal at that time.
I was just curious whether there was some kind of etiquette reason
that some people believed it was "impolite" or something like that,
to ask for a container to bring home leftovers.
Sometimes I overestimate my hunger, and by the time the main dish
comes along, all I can eat are a couple of bites. Actually,
sometimes, it's not so much that I overestimated my hunger as that I
found several appetizers intruiging.
I'm pretty busy between work and other responsibilities, so frankly
I'm thrilled when I have leftovers I can take to work or reheat at
night. We even have fridges and microwaves in our office kitchen --
they just redesigned the kitchen, and the vents from the microwave go
to pipes that lead to the roof, so you can microwave fish guilt-free
=)
They also instituted a zero-waste center, so in addition to regular
trash and the typical mixed recycling, we also have paper/cardboard
recycling -- *and* compost. I love it.
