You have such a great sense of humour, Lesley, even though you have been

Thanks
Congrats to Sheelagh for getting the 1,000th post on the thread
Another week....
Dave didn't go to his chiropody appointment on Monday because his foot
was too painful to allow him to walk down the stairs and I asked them
to make him another one for a couple of weeks hence when I have some
time off work preferably in the afternoon and am completely stunned,
they arranged his notes originally if you remember to be transferred
to a clinic and made an appointment when I wanted them to, which left
me stunned at their efficiency and they've done it again and given me
what we wanted! As I say I have finally found one department that can
do its job!
Dave's had the district nurse round a few times this week and it looks
like his foot is getting better. The GP finally turned up and had a
go about why Dave didn't get in touch with him at the beginning but we
tried and he promised to look into why we were more or less told that
they didn't do visits (Now they would do one if only because I;ve got
better at making a fuss). Anyway Dave's blood pressure was apparently
a little high (They should try and measure mine!)but he's had the 'flu
so maybe that's to blame. Also the GP wants a blood sample for his
records and Dave is saying he doesn't want that done apparently a long
stay in hospital hasn't cured his fear of needles
Friday was typical the district nurse didn;'t turn up so I called them
to be told she was on leave and the replacement had tried to come
round and hadn't been able to get in. So I had to tell them "You
should have keys because Dave can't get downstairs", they checked and
found they did have keys so they sent someone else round in the end in
fact Dave hopes the other nurse is on a long break because he doesn't
like her and he likes the new one much better...even through they both
put iodine dressings on his foot. Apparently about half an hour after
it's done it feels like a few hundred bees are stinging his foot and
that lasts a long time I imagine that dressing is popular with the
nursing staff because it gives them time to get away before the
patient starts complaining
I've been tired all week (2 days of the tube strike didn't help) and
keep feeling I am going down with the 'flu at least I hope it's only
the 'flu.
I feel ..well...Dave keeps saying he was doing so well and now this
and I keep saying "It's a setback but you were doing well I guess
we're due one" and trying to make light of it whilst all the time I
just keep thinking I can't take this it's like I've done so much and
now I have totally run out of energy
My line manager also felt rough and now is suspected of having
glandular fever apparently the main symptoms are swollen glands and
feeling permanently tired. Well the good news is my glands aren't
swollen and as for the other symptom..
On Wednesday at 4am, I lost the plot and said "That's it! I'm ouuta
here!" and headed for the door, Dave pointed out that I was hardly
dressed to walk the streets on the grounds I was not actually dressed
at all and if I did, I'd get arrested and locked in a psychiatric unit
and got the reply "FINE! At least I can get some unbroken sleep!"
I just hope my boss hasn't got grandular fever if she has then she's
off work for at least another week which means:-
1. I have to cover her consultants which alas include the psycho hose
beast (she's a cat lover and I still don't like her!)
2. Bang goes meeting an old friend for lunch on Friday
Then Thursday the guy came to replace the windows. That went better
than expected , Dave and the window guy got on very well, he stayed
until 10.30 but will still have to come back to finish the trims on a
couple of windows but that should only take a couple of hours sometime
over the next couple of weeks.
The new windows from a Hoomin point of view are great- they keep the
flat warmer and quieter (we're so used to to street noise neither of
us can sleep at the moment because it's too quiet) and for some reason
our hi-fi sounds better
But we should not have had it done..the Fabulous Furballs are not
happy
First of all there was the invasion of the workman which meant they
both hid under the sofa which nearly combusted under the combined
feline glares of death ..not that we minded because at one point we
had no windows in at all and were happy they were both under the sofa
Our old windows had a ledge half way up, which was a good place for a
feline to sit and watch the World go by
They don't anymore so all day we've had cats diving up the window and
crash landing because the old ledge isn;t there anymore
