We are starting to dry out now. We have had 3 days of no rain, & the
forecast is for one more day , then another day of rain. Hopefully it
is only one days rain though.
We ended up passing cat to person in a chain in the end & bringing
them all indoors from their pen. We never thought for a moment that we
would get flooded, because we live on the side of a hill. However,
what I didn't anticipate was the flood water making it's way through
my back garden in a raging torrent, that looked more like a river than
a steam!!
Thankfully, we have some really good neighbors who helped out when it
came to making the few repairs to the cordon off areas, & the side
fence where it broke through, to continue flowing down the hill. It's
amazing what a community spirit arises when disasters like this
happen.
We were more than grateful for the help & it all culminated into a BBQ
@ the end to which everyone was invited & a good time was had by all..
(including the cats who can now go outside to catch a few rays, nibble
some grass & watch the world go by again :o)
