Re: PET FOOD RECALL UPDATE: OTHER CONTAMINANTS MAY BE INVOLVED

. It says the regular dry cat food we use is not affected by the
recall, only their "Prescription Diet m/d Feline Dry Food", because
it's the only product they make containing a wheat gluten which is the
source of the contamination issue.

Oh, ***!
That's part of TK's diet.
They're recalling ALL lot numbers of the 4 & 10 pound bags of the m/d.
I haven't noticed any changes in him, but now I've got more to worry
about with his kidney function.....as if his heart medication and aspirin
wasn't enough. GODDAMIT!! That poor cat has been through enough
*** in the past 2 years.
Well, he's due for a full blood workup in the near future. I guess it's going
to be the VERY near future.

That's a very good idea. Certainly it'll ease your mind. As for the
chance of problems, if you re-read the Hill's web page you'll note
that their recall of the product is strictly voluntary and
precautionary. Further, of the millions of animals who've eaten Hill's
products during the time the contaminents were in the the wheat
gluten, I can't find any reports of cats becoming ill - or worse.
Anyway, we're all wishing the best for TK, and for you.
