It can be pretty tough looking for a job when you're already working
(more than) full time. I know that I looked while working at my old
job, but I didn't really throw my energy into it until I was laid off
and had the time.

Preaching to the choir, I know, but the worse the job is, the more
energy it saps and the harder it is to make yourself take the time to
build a good resume and a sparkling cover letter, not to mention find
places to send them to.
