Helen, I am genuinely sympathetic to what happened to your brother's best
friend. But *any* knife can kill. On that logic, no knives at all should be
sold in the UK as you can kill with a knife you use to eat your meal.

I don't dispute that any knife can kill, but I honestly think that heavy
duty sporting knives of over 4 inches should be sold in appropriate
stores where you have to produce ID.
IIRC, it's illegal to carry knives with blades of longer than 4 inches
on or about your person.
