Has anyone else heard of this? They're offering it through my job,
for about $6.50 a month. On the one hand, it looks marvelous, but
I'd have to change vets (my current vet doesn't take the plan). On
the other hand, I've never had a pet who required extensive medical
work. Well, I've only had 3 cats over my adult life, so far, so I
could just be spoiled. Basically, I bring them home, get their
first shots, then feed and water and love them until they die.
Never needed anything else.
It's like any insurance coverage - a gamble that you won't need it.
I don't know. You have to figure that any insurance plan will be
structured so that overall, the insurance company makes money (income
of clients vs. outgo of clients' coverage).
If the $6.50 is because your company is subsidizing it, it might be
worth it (although what happens when you leave the company?). If your
company isn't subsidizing it -- what can their coverage be like if
they're profitable at $6.50 a month per pet?
