Which provides better service.... the post office, the DMV, or
McDonalds?

The first two are government monopoly. The thrid one is run by
competition. YOu can your burger your own way. I'd rather that.
Instead of one size fits none government regulations.

I've heard a lot of people complain about the quality of medical care
available in Canada and the UK under the social medicine plan.
However, I
*don't* hear about significant parts of the population going without
medical care!

I believe I'd rather pay income tax on the order of 50% and have the
kind
of health care offered in Canada or the UK, than with the crap we have
to
deal with here. This is inexcusable. Right now Nancy and I are covered
under her employer, and have access to coverage from my employer as
well.
But that coverage is not nearly as good as the coverage I remember
from
20-30 years ago. And it costs a whole lot more!

It's shameful what our politicians are allowing. I write to my elected
representatives often.
