I just called the doctor's office and found out that the strep culture
they took yesterday is negative. So apparently it's a virus.
The pain is ever so *slightly* better than it was a few hours ago. It
still hurts a lot, but it's not quite as unbearable. I'm going to try to
go back to sleep. The worst thing about this - aside from feeling like
I'm getting rubbed with sandpaper every time I swallow, that is - has
been that I haven't been able to sleep more than a few hours at a
time before pain would wake me up. So I'm completely exhausted.
Back to bed now...
