Okay, guys, you don't know the whole situation, so here it is.

I saw a dentist *two years ago* to set up oral surgery and a bunch of
other dentistry work. Because of my dental anxiety and health
problems, it was supposed to be set up to be done in the hospital,
under anesthesia (not general, but Versed etc.). I waited. And
waited. And waited. In the meanwhile *three* of my teeth have broken
off to the gumline.

They finally called to set it up. The first time, they set it for
right before ComFest, which is where I do most of my business for the
year. So I had to ask them to change it. Then I set it up, without
thinking, right after Richard's birthday, right as he was still in the
worst of his depression/anxiety, and he got very upset. So I had to
reschedule one more time, which I did, for July 21st.

Then I had the colonoscopy, under the same meds they would have used
for the oral surgery. And I woke up during it. And I have been
diagnosed with PTSD because of it.

I called to ask them if I could reschedule for a couple of months
later, so I could find out what went wrong with the colonoscopy, and
try to get over the PTSD. They refused to reschedule. They said they
would put me at the back of the list, once again, and it could be
months. There was nothing I could say but "Fine."

Then they called me the day before the surgery was scheduled. They
had NOT cancelled it! Needless to say, I am sure everyone was very
ticked off, but I thought it was clear that it had been cancelled.

I have tried calling my dentist. I wrote a letter. He refuses to
respond to me.

The money left in the dental fund isn't enough to cover it, anyway.
I have dipped into it to pay bills, cat care, and for groceries. And
it's a whole different thing now anyway, with three teeth broken off
and other problems cropping up. All I really want now is to have
*all* my teeth removed, and get dentures. My teeth have been bad
since I was a kid, over 9 of them have alrady been removed, three are
broken off now. Appearance is the last concern I have. I have looked
bad since I was eight years old. I would be delighted to have a full
set of normal-looking dentures.

So I have no dentist, and don't have enough money to pay for it
anyway. And that's where things stand.

All I can do at this point is try to find another dentist who can do
it with the anesthesia in a hospital, and there aren't very many of
those around. I certainly am not going to trust a dentist who refuses
to communicate with me because the hospital screwed me over.

And I don't know how I will pay for it, but I will worry about that
when I find a new dentist. In the meanwhile, there is little I can do
about that.

But I can do something about some hurricane kitties. That is what
would do my heart good, and is the one thing I can do for the beings
who went through that terrible disaster.
