I live on the 2nd largest earthquake fault line in the U.S. and my rental
insurance covers earthquake damage. Of course, that rider is accompanied by
a $5000 deductible, but there you have it. Chances are the damage
sufficient for an earthquake claim would be more than $5000 in the event of
a big quake.
Still, I concur a lot of insurance policies exclude coverage for "Acts of
God", which I've never really understood. It's like, if you accidentally
set your house on fire in the kitchen, it's okay. But if something totally
beyond your control happens, nope, sorry.

I hear ya. I'm so glad I'm 21 years "shut of" (that's a Southern term for
you across the pond folks meaning well rid of) my ex- and that we didn't
have children. Maybe when things calm down you can find an attorney who can
force him to sell out his half, which, BTW (smile!) is now half of exactly
*nothing* LOL
