Yeah, her husband was pretty pissed when he found out she didn't renew the
renters insurance - but renters insurance wouldn't have covered flood
damage.

Nope, if I had any check for a reimbursement would have been in both our
names and he wouldn't sign it over to save his life (and I wouldn't risk
jail for forging his signature on either checks or insurance contracts).
