I firmly believe in this. After my little dog Sampson (RB) died he was on
my bed one night during a bad storm. As the storm subsided, he moved away
from me. I awakened and realized I should NOT have been able to feel his
fur under my hand. I can't describe the feeling but he whooshed away from
me and I had a feeling of ultimate peace.. he came to make sure I was okay.
I've no doubt about that.
I never saw or felt him again after Persia showed up on my doorstep. I
think Persia was his way of sending me someone else to care for me. She
follows me around like a dog; licks me like a dog; chases tossed toys like a
dog; sleeps in the same spots he did. He's probably horrified to find
himself reincarnated in a cat-suit! :D
