You described the classic symptoms of a very sick bird. The progression you
recounted had all the earmarks of a bird getting sicker, not better.

We have seen new bird keepers come and go for many years with the same post
as yours, one describing these symptoms and asking for advice.

We also see those same posters minimize, justify and ignore the advice which
is given by experienced people who don't see birds in terms of value but
rather unique individual living creatures.

These posters typically want a cheap to free fix and compare vet bills to
bird cost to make "heartless ***" choices.

I hope your bird is well. In the future, when you see anything unusual that
indicates your bird is in the slightest distress (respiratory, dropping
change, equilibrium, eating habits, etc.), run, do not walk, to the nearest
avian vet and tell us all about it afterward. The advice here will always
be the same; see a vet immediately.
