In news:7ivldqF32gj3uU2@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx,Every summer I plan on getting a photo of a full moon coming up over

the Absaroka Mountains with the Yellowstone River in the foreground.
The moon needs to come up in late twilight to get enough light for
the mountains to show and the timing only happens once or twice a
summer.

Unfortunately, this year it was cloudy that night.
Ron
so flat, the moon rise was compromised by some doofus in the line of
sight who had
a yard light on a tall pole.

Probably belongs to the guy who is always climbing over the retaining
wall to get a little closer to nature to take a photo and is in everyone
else's way thereby ruining their shot. His cousin pulls his vehicle, a
diesel usually, into a scenic viewpoint, leaves the engine running while
he gets out to take in the sight. All those trying to video the scene
really appreciate his engine noise on their tape!

land on the very fringe of civilization and then want to light up the
desert within a half mile radius. Is the IRS or the Mafia after them? Are
they in the Witness Protection Program?
Several times this past summer we had several occasions where the RV parked
next to us left their porch light on all night every night. Even worse, a
couple of RVs next to us left their big flood/emergency lights on all night
every night they were there. I felt like telling them if the dark bothered
them that much, perhaps they should go back home or choose an RV park in
town.
I will admit that where we spend the summer when it gets dark it is DARK!
Some of us like to look up at night and see the Milky Way along with
thousands of other stars, not the next RV's outside .lights.

It just occurred to me that liberals belong in the Witless Protection
Program...... Hereafter to be known as the WPP. :)
I better go check the batteries in Josefina. She's hot to be ridden....
I've been toting the collection of plants we brought along out to the back
yard. A (pruned) 6 ft. grapefruit tree that younger son grew from seed
and his wife has now banished. My battered tomato plants. One born last
Spring and the other in the Spring of '08. Assorted weeds that Esposa
wants to grow here...
and a pot of chives. Growing grapefruit from seed is a crap shoot with
poor odds of getting edible fruit. I told my son if the tree turns out to
be barren, we'll lie and tell people it's a Ficus. :)
