A buncha stuff has the Socialists on the run right now. They had some
talking head stand up and start spouting how "the recession is over"
yesterday. And the poor *** was ignored in person and in the news
because of all the flap over ACORN. Hee hee. Ya gotta love it.
And now it seems the House is also firing ACORN.

All I want to know is what the "retired" Doctors will do for income.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Most of them have no other option that will pay nearly as well.- Hide quoted text -
A good many of them are small business entrepreneurs
that just want to make an honest living. And they want
to do it without a bunch of governmental bureaucratic
bull***.
And guess what small business entrepreneurs are good at?
They are good at creating a small business that will suceed
without government intervention or help. Small Business IS
the backbone of our economy now and always has been.
Smart entrepreneurs will do just fine, thank you very much.

Actually you are citing the reason many more Docs support changing the
system rather than oppose it. ?They would be free to do whatever under
a single set of rules with a single contact and a standard form. ?Most
Doctors offices now employ multiple billing folks to interact with the
various insurance agencies they have to deal with. ?As long as anyone
else is paying the bills there will be paperwork and rules.
You are flat WRONG just like John Kinney and the
NPR article is fiction.
See my posted first three article from the new
Investors Business Daily series elswhere in this thread.

What part of my response is wrong?
Most of it is the steady rant against the current system that has gone
on for years. Medical Billing clerk is now a recognized 2 yr college
program. If the work is not done in the office it is farmed out.
Often it is done by folks working at home. It is one of the lower
paying medical specialties but still pays a livable salary. When your
Doctor steps out after examining you he is as often checking with one
of his clerks to see what your insurance pays after he hits the PDR.
Try googling medical billing training if you want to learn more. it's
a lot of people who are a financial drag that does not need to be
there.
BTW, the current level of technology is a tablet PC connected
wirelessly carried by the Doctors. Faster, easier, PDR built in and
it's hard to misread a scrawl in a checkbox.
While we know figures lie and liars figure you might want to check
some sources less biased than IBD.

Nice quote in this one:
http://www.pnhp.org/
"This is because private insurance bureaucracy and paperwork consume
one-third (31 percent) of every health care dollar. Streamlining
payment through a single nonprofit payer would save more than $400
billion per year, enough to provide comprehensive, high-quality
coverage for all Americans."

bottom line - the folks putting their money on opposing change are the
one's who are raking it in. It's a case of the crooks whining about
hiring a town marshal.
