: Sara Lee makes bread? I thought she only made frozen cake.

Some parts of the country (western NC comes to mind) SL bakes as much as 90
to 95% of all 'brands' in the area including parts of adjacent states' often
the only difference (other then the retail prices) is the packaging.
My bread of preference is Oroweat 100% whole wheat. Once I get very
far east I have to switch to its sister bread, Arnolds, which never
seems quite as good.
Those two brands, along with many, many other brands, are baked by a
company known by the wonderful name "Bimbo bakeries."
The vast majority of major brands sold in the US are baked by Bimbo,
Sara Lee, and Interstate Bakeries - the latter is Wonder Bread,
Hostess, Dolly Madison, and Twinkies to name just a few of their
brands.
