Thanks Matt...currently looking at either the rv/trucker roof or mirror mount depending on how I can mount it on the fiver...don't like the idea of drilling a hole in the roof so think the three-way mount may be able to be mounted in a better way. Like the idea of easily adding the booster if needed.

I run dual band repeaters in both my home office and my mobile office, and they are worth the expense to me. If Pegleg tries a external antenna (most are 5dB low and 6dB high) and it does not get him what he had hoped, he can add a booster later at nominal cost.
Verizon is currently shifting much of its operation from low (800MHz) to the higher band (1900MHz) and a dual band antenna is still ~40$us.

k, so it's for data instead of voice? (you said cellular usb, so i'm guessing it's for data and not a phone) does your cellular usb device have a thing for an external antenna, or do you just want to extend the usb cable from it to your router? It's a Pantech UM150 (Verizon). It will be used in our fifthwheel. It does have an external antenna connection. It seems the best option is to plug the usb into the cradlepoint router and mount it near where I can run a cable in from the external antenna or from a booster. Question is what gives the best bang for how many bucks.
TIA
