Mr Weeks, are you a techincal engineer by trade? Got any experience
actually working with tv in any way? I didn't think so.

Yes...degreed engineer, FCC licensed, worked on TV transmitters
for GE in one of my past careers.

The main reason the stations have not totally converted is, due to the
fact that ain't that easy a thing to do and costs money. Which is why
congress gave an extension.

Again, could not be more wrong. The TV stations were ready to go,
at least the ones here in Minnesota. In fact, many are running on
temporary transmitters to ensure coverage during the cut-over. Most
are running two transmitters, one analog and one digital at great
expense. Several stations had their analog transmitters sold to
overseas locations and had contracts for delivery shortly after
the first cut-over date. At least one station in Minneapolis did
pull the plug on analog to save money on electricity and meet their
delivery date for the sale of their analog transmitter.

Digital signals will still be broadcast on the same frequencies as the
analog. In analog, there are two seperate signals. One for audio, one
for video. Which is why sometimes you hear the audio while the video
might be screwed up.

Again, not true. Any station that has an analog transmitter has
to be broadcasting their digital on a different frequency. There
are laws of physics issues at play here. Analog is not two
separate signals. It is one carrier signal that is modulated with
a number of different inputs including audio and video.

I have to say that I really have no clues on how digital tv works.
But I'd have to say that your analysis, well, just plain sucks.
As there is no way possible to have more than one signal on the same
"channel".

I am sorry that you don't understand the correct information that
I have provided. But please do everyone else a service by not
spreading your incorrect information. That just confuses people
and actually can scare some folks.

Was that also in one of your past life's. :-)
