My problem with the over cab area was mainly to do with the ladder but
I also rejected it as a sleeping area. Besides, it's so much better
for storing stuff. :-)
OTOH, it's some trouble to make a bed down below, and most of the
bedding options, like travasac, are a little more money than I'd
like to spend.
I think I found the answer today at Walmart: fleece ***

I will definitely look into these. The travasac is good for cool
weather - although it does take up space no matter how neatly it's
folded up in the morning. I have been considering some kind of
bolster cover and then stuffing the folded sac into that. The "hide
in plain sight" approach.
washer, and cost only 10 bucks apiece. If you've ever just
wanted something to throw down and sleep on the couch, these
things are your answer. When rolled up they take up no more room
than a neck pillow.
And can serve as such too. :-)

From my point of view:
1. The problem with sleeping bags of any sort is that they are
confining to sleep in and bulky to store. And hot.
I'm not claustrophobic, except for sleeping bags.
2. The problem with sheets and blankets on the couch is the
bother of tucking them in and wrestling with all the bedding on a
nightly basis.
They'll never stay tucked either. One turn and you're in a mess.
3. The problem with just laying back on the couch without
bedding is that it is hard to throw the couch in the washer. At
least on a regular basis.
LOL. ant it takes _forever_ to dry. ;-)
These fleece sheets solve the first problem by being thin and
easy to store in plain sight. They keep you from sweating
directly onto the couch, and in cold weather you just pile
blankets on top until you are satisfied.
I'm sold. Hope the Canadian WM carries them. I think I may have seen
something like that in Costco (but no zip).
They solve the second problem by being no bother to roll out and
unzip. Or roll up in the morning. It's just a thick ***, and
comes with a couple of sewn-in elastic bands to keep it rolled
up. And they sew together to make a Queen sized sack.
As for the third problem, they soak up sweat and are easy to
wash. You are not wearing out your couch. And you can replace
them for 10 bucks.
There are other small light sleeping bags, but the ones I have
seen are all too bulky to solve problem #1. You could do the
same thing by sewing up sheets, but I'm not handy with a sewing
machine. And sheets wouldn't make a neat neck cushion, or store
pleasantly in plain sight.
Great find Bob.
