It wasn't either the lack or excess of any regulation in
financial dealings that caused the current mess. It's clear
that keeping abreast of current affairs is somewhat beyond your
capability. IT WAS THE INTENTIONAL AND CONTINUED MEDDLING OF
GOVERNMENT IN WHAT SHOULD HAVE BEEN THE PRIVATE MARKET THAT
CAUSED THOSE PROBLEMS!!!
Let me get this right ----- The Government meddling in the auto
business caused the problems at GM & Chrysler?????
Who wrote the CAFE standards?

What's Your problem with the cafe standards? The only one I see is
the refusal of Detroit to build decent small cars. They did not
lose that market, they wrote it off.
GM's sales are predominantly big gas guzzlers. They give the public
what they want.
Yep, and that was a BAD strategy.

You mean they should have built what the public didn't want and end up with
a huge surplus of unsalable cars? Sounds weird to me. How long would an
executive who made a decision like that, have a job?

Are you saying Honda, Toyota, Kia, Hyundai and BMW were stupid. It
sure sounds like it to me.

Now, in my humble opinion those companies had much better management.

Yet Toyota sales dropped 39% last month also.

So what. Sales go up and down with the economy. Toyota is NOT in
bankruptcy. Toyota is going to survive ---- without any government
help. GM and Chrysler are toast.

Management killed them off.
