I bought one. Kit is around $100. Camera is in a bracket to mount on
the license plate. Transmitter has a cable to the camera and needs to
be wired into vehicle power. Directions are to tap the backup lamp
circuit. I'm thinking the tail lamps. Transmitter will probably be
mounted at the bottom edge of the back window.
The monitor has a cigarette lighter plug for power and the receiver is
built in.
The monitor also has an auxiliary video input that looks like I could
tap as laptop with a navigation program if I had one.
I am also assuming the camera can run continuously for hours and that
I may want to mount it somewhere else like on the ladder.
Suggestions welcome, observations will be added as I make them.
Tried it out today.

Display is 7" wide format (16x9) color with brightness and contrast
among other controls. It is set up with either a pedestal mount or a
pair of straps that let it be mounted on the visor. I'm thinking
visor mount right now. The display is big enough to be a problem
blocking the dash if set on the doghouse. OTOH the overhead bed
blocks the sun enough that I seldom use the visor. It also puts the
display close to the rear view mirror that I am used to checking.
I connected the camera to a cigarette lighter adapter plug for power
so I could run it from the cab. The camera covers a wide area but
looked pretty good when I had it working. It's pretty squishy behind
the MH right now so I did not want to walk around a lot. ;-)
In a week or 3 I will mount the transmitter on the ladder so I have a
direct line of sight between the camera and transmiter. The license
plate is low so I do not think it will work as well as centered under
the rear window.
I wonder about monitoring a toad with it. The tires are not going ot
be easy to see. Can I depend on looking for unusual action if there
is a problem?
