Looks like they have TTs and vintage appearance as well. Then they probably don't have big gas guzzlers tike we do. After all their gas has been a lot higher than ours for a long time.

Distances between attractions also are shorter. For example from central Germany to central Italy is about 500 to 600 miles, crossing Germany east/west or west/east is about 600 miles. Driving north to south in Germany will take a new, distinctly different area about every 50 miles.
Traveling on the river barge one really gets a good sense of that. We would visit one city in a day, then sail away around dinner time arriving at the next stop in the early AM. We were surprised that the same trip took about an hour by car.
Most of the trip we took was in Bavaria and Franconia so the towns were not that distinctly different, but each one had a special character.
BTW, Franconia is geographically in Bavaria, but the Franconians don't want to admit it. <g>
