Many believed this day would never come. Most of us hoped and

would, but few of us actually believed we would live to see it.

I had no doubt that we would someday have a black President. Gen
Colin Powell is an example who could have been elected if he had
sought the office. Once it became clear that Gen Powell was not
after the high office, then I thought I would never see this
happen in my lifetime.

Given that black folks comprise only about 12% of the population,
one would thing that there would be enough racist, anti-black, and
anti- minority votes out there to stop a black person from
winning. In my book, this tells me that Mr. Obama overcame a huge
hurdle, which makes his victory all that much more amazing.

Now, lets see what he can do when he gets to sit in the big chair.
One might suggest that the way Mr. Bush left things, Mr. Obama
could do little wrong. Unfortunately, we still have a long ways
down to where things could be. Lets hope we don't find out how
far.

Little tip, John. I don't usually respond to your drivel...and now
I can see why I was right. READ THE POST before you respond to it.

Nate

You will have to clarify what you mean. I did read the post, and
the quoted the part that I commented on. What don't you understand?

-john-

I suspect that what he means is that your response has absolutely
nothing to do with the original post. Clipping a line out of
context only proves you to be a fool.

Bruce

Now that I had to explain it to you in detail, it looks like you
are the one wearing the dunce hat. You wear it well.

-john-

Clipping a line out of context just proves you to be a fool. It does not
matter what your intent was, you proved yourself to be a fool when you tried
to change the meaning of the original post by taking a line out of context.
