Wow, time flies. I'm about to dive into the Digital TV Transmission
situation.
I have a 2003 Triple-E Commander. It's got a 20" Panasonic CRT built in up
in the front. And we have a small built in 12v TV in the bedroom.
The front TV is such that changing the configuration including the cabinet
work is out of the question right now so I have TV Converter Box on the way.
Not having seen the box yet, I think it runs on 120v ac. So, I'll have to
seek another outlet. I can't even find where the Panasonic plugs in. Any
ideas? Plus, I'm told that the converter needs a remote and the TV still
needs a remote. Is it a hassle to use the converter?
The back TV is another story. I have a 20" Visio LCD that I'd like to
use back there. Problem is, the existing TV is plugged into a 12v outlet. I
just noticed two 120 V outlets in back of it's cabinet.
The Visio runs on 120v. Those 120 v outlets are only hot when plugged into
ground power or the generator is running.
If we want to use dry camping, I'll have to use an inverter plus the TV.
Does a 20" LCD TV require more watts to operate than a 12" CRT TV? I didn't
need the inverter for the old TV.
Up to now, we've been able to use the old TV and my CPAP machine without a
problem. I'm concerned about the draw of the Visio and an inverter.
Please advise,

Did you try locating the Visio model on the web and checking it's
power consumption? Or try reading the label that is suppoed to be on
it or it's power supply? Conversion from 120 to 12 gives you roughly
a 10:1 current trade. If the TV draws 120 w on AC it will need 1 A at
120 V or 10 A to supply the inverter on 12 V. The DC plug is probably
fused around 20 A.
FWIW - pure guess is that the LCD draws significantly less power but
check the numbers.
