I use McAfee anti virus and firewall. I also use the latest version of
Firefox and Yahoo! mail. I can't attach a file to my Yahoo! mail in
Firefox, though I can do so in Internet Explorer.
I played around for a while and noticed that McAfee was scanning my
attachment for viruses and that is what was keeping them from getting
attached to my email. It didn't actually block the attachments, just
never attached them. The dashes in the little box kept moving, moving,
moving.
There are no viruses that I am aware of in my computer. I scan it
regularly and I am pretty careful where I go on the Net. No one who
has gotten a file or photo from me has complained. I even sent myself
one of my own files using AOL and McAfee scanned it and accepted it in
FF. Besides, this would not account for McAfee allowing me to attach
files to Yahoo mail if I am using Internet Explorer and not Firefox.
I found that if I disable McAfee, I can attach a file to my Yahoo
mail. I checked the "permissions" in McAfee and Firefox has full
permission, so I'm at a loss.
I put the question on the Firefox group, but no one seemed to want to
bother with it. Some people said they were not having the problem I
had, but that was before I realized that McAfee was playing a part in
it.
Does anyone know how to get my Yahoo! mail to accept attachments in
Firefox?
PS: please don't tell me to trash McAfee. I won't.
Check your mailbox.
Try using their "Classic" variant - it doesn't sit there spinning away.
FYI, Yahoo uses Norton <spitting>.
