While I agree with the religious aspect of it, could I bother you for an embellishment of what "fascism" the GOP has imposed upon our society?

Well, I think that the "Patriot Act" has had a chilling effect on American life and is as "facist" a piece of legislation as I can imagine in 21st-century America (I am sure the true authors of this nonesense have far greater imaginatory powers than I). It is a deliberate attempt to create an environment in which it is every American's duty to "The Homeland" to watch every other American (what a disgusting phrase that is, "The Homeland"; I think every true Amererican patriot who remembers the excesses of the SS of "The Fatherland" and the KGB of "The Motherland" just has to gag a little whenever they say "Homeland Security"). I call "shennanigans" on the motives behind this abhorrent piece of legislative excrement.

What were some of the chilling effects experienced by more than an infinitesimal portion of lawful citizens? I've only been chilled twice - when I couldn't get into the Arch and the Glen Canyon Dam visitor center with my pocket knife.

I still go outside from time to time and shoot at my dirt pile, and none of my neighbors have sicced the Men in Black on me.
