The only thing I knew to do was to change the outgoing SMTP port to 587.
But I looked at it and it's already set at that.
He uses Outlook on Vista.
Did you also try toggling the:
"This server requires a secure connection (SSL)" check box?
But most likely is that the last time it worked because of an anomaly
in carolina.rr.com email relay security checking and now it is doing a
proper validity check, i.e. in the interim, rr.com found a 'problem'
and fixed it.
The only unknown with the above supposition is his ability to send
mail via carolina.rr.com when he's elsewhere off of the Roadrunner
cable network - or does it only "not work" when he's at your house and
it does when he's at a Starbucks or ??
I know that I have no hope of sending email from my cable account when
on the road. But with Windows Mail (nee Outlook Express) all our mail
goes into the same Inbox (5 different email accounts) so all I have to
do to reply is change the sender (using the drop down in the From
field) to our yahoo account, and for new messages the default account
on the laptop is always set to the yahoo account. I think the same
feature is in full-boat Outlook on Vista.
