Personally, I don't believe either has actually changed in the past year or two. Whichever one is elected is going to slide back toward what he was before he had to pander for national votes.

At this point there have been so many lies and distortions that I don't think he can and it's getting to be too late for that.I really miss the McCain of 8 years ago, his pandering and remaking himself to "win the election at any cost" aren't making me remotely happy. To say nothing of the VP he picked....
You and me both. I voted for him in the primary 8-years ago sadly he
lost to BUSH.

Vote their records - not the bull*** they've been feeding us off stumps.
bill, that is what scares me most. McCain has voted with/for Bush on
almost everything I disagree with. I certainly don't want 4-more
years of what we have been through.

Yeah, I'm always a bit amused when someone says that Bush spent too much, and then they turn around and say they are going to vote Democrat. What on earth are they thinking - Obama has promised to spend so much he will make Bush look positively conservative. You have to be stupid to see/hear Obama's plans and still think he will have a fiscally responsible government.
The really revealing thing is that most of these folks who have claimed to be "moderates" are all Obama worshippers - when McCain is much closer to being a "moderate". Obama is about as far away from "moderate" as you can get.
It confirms what I've said before - what you say you are doesn't determine what you are, it's who you vote for that determines it.

Theory don't mean squat if it don't work.
