Hi folks,Any buffer is good with the right buffing compound and wax. The faster the buffer, the faster you have to move. Never buff with anything that goes faster than 1500 RPM or you will start burning and smudging paint from the friction heat. An orbital buffer is very safe, but can be very slow. Old T shirts give a clean hand buff even on lacquer. On my RV I aluminum sides, I use wax and microfiber cloth.
After a few posts I started waxing the Commander. I'm putting 303 on the vinyl decals and cleaner wax on the fiberglass.
Then, I remembered I had a buffer. It's a Coleman something or other and it jiggles and spins somewhat.
It's very light and I can handle it with one hand and it is better than rubbing by hand.
But my question to the group is this:
1- Do you use a buffer? Id so, which one?
2- Is that Porter-Cable 7424 6" machine at all most 6 pounds manageable on a ladder and
all the vertical work to do an RV? AND
3- Is it more effective than the cheaper units?
Thanks,
