eBay

Hi
Since the subject came up on another thread, I will share my
experience.
I have bought and sold a lot of stuff on eBay.
I have never had a single problem.
Sellers have always posted feedback immediately and I have never had
one hold up feedback until I posted.
I have never had cause to post negative feed back for a buyer or
seller.
The one or two times I had a problem with a purchased item, the seller
immediately made good by refund or exchange.
I have sold computers, a microfiche reader, electronics, useless (to
me) car parts, etc.
I have bought computers, camera stuff, maps, books, electronics, etc.
I also use PayPal. I know a lot of people have complaints about PayPal
and there is even a forum somewhere dedicated to that subject, but I
have never had a problem with sending or receiving money through
PayPal. The eBay -- PayPal interface is amazingly seamless. I can
usually pay for a purchased item with just a few mouse clicks. I
always do this right after winning the auction.
Money wise, I am ahead. I recently lost a small amount of money
underestimating the cost of shipping the microfiche reader. But
overall, I am way ahead. I once bought an Apple Portable on eBay for
about $50, used it for a couple of years, then sold it to some guy in
Japan for $250. He paid a small fortune to have it shipped.
This is just my experience. I am sure others can share horror stories.
