OT-Back to the farm....

Due to head back to the farm tomorrow. We are all partied out.

2 of the kids, 6 of the grandkids and all 3 of the great-grandkids were up for the weekend.

I'm sunburned and stiff. Esposa and I just finished taking the boat out. Caught 5 northern pike and 5 largemouth bass the past week so we had plenty of fish to eat. Kids and grandkids caught a mess of sunfish too.

Ate a lot of good food, all cooked over an outdoor fire. Drank some memorable beers. #3 grandson got engaged to his long time girl friend. He's due to graduate from college next spring. Plans to go to graduate school for a master's in Solar Physics.

Don't get him started on global warming. He'll eat your lunch.

#1 grandson is starting a cabin on his lake lot on a good lake east of here. He's in charge of a new development and although lookers are scarce, they are still selling homes. #2 grandson lives in Charleston, SC and works for an outfit building wifi infrastructure for the Navy right now. He's been to Naples and has a trip to Salerno soon. Might have to make a trip to the Arab Emirates this fall.

Lots of chatting around the fire pit, hardly a bug showed up this year, not even mosquitoes. No deer flies. Maybe global warming is killing them off?

A small fortune was spent on fireworks but the neighbors on the lake had even more. Crazy bastards were still sending up rockets at 0130.

A good time was had by all but I need a week to recuperate.
