Interesting articles, but the second economist, failed to mention the 40
nuclear power plants that china is going to build, under 'the poor world
turns greener too' header, as if they won't exist. The Energy that powers
our future will be the one that passes both environmental impact and
economy of use, the latter which I believe is going to drive the ethanol
controversy toward cane sugar usage.

With the recent floods in the mid-west, the supposed sustainability of
alternative fuels has been exposed. Droughts, floods and possible large
scale insect and plant diseases are all possible scenarios to energy
disruptions provided by biomass, just as variable wind conditions and
sunlight can impact their output. Nuclear has far greater output
reliability, then any other solutions.
