read about how & why the international left used to pillory our

In particular, he should read & heed the paragraph that goes like this:

Sound familiar? It should. One of the (small a) american left's liberal
heroes, John Kerry, used those very same words a few years later. And you
think that denigrating propaganda doesn't work? No matter how egregious the
lie, words like that will always find someone dumb enough to believe them.
And in this country, finding someone like that (dumb enough) is
frighteningly easy.
