I found out that it is a 30 amp rig .
I got there this morning about nine o'clock and my friend said that
that Cummins people said his ground fault receptacle was bad and had
removed it so the first thing I had to do was put in a new one.
Okay, when it's plug into shore power everything is working as it
should. Right next to the power panel there is a manual transfer
switch so that you can choose which air-conditioner (front or rear)
and on shore power the converter/charger does charge the batteries.
Also the microwave and TV also have power. I removed all breakers and
checked in with an ohm meter and they're all working properly.
When the generator is running the manual transfer switch for the air
conditioners worked properly but there's no power to the
converter/charger and the batteries are not charging.
It was decided this afternoon (about noon) to change out the generator
transfer switch. The power panel has the transfer switch integrated
in the power panel box and had to be removed. I was just ready to
wiring in the new progressive dynamics transfer switch when I was
informed that they had planned on leaving early in the morning on
their trip. The changeover was going to take at least two days,
so... I had to put everything back together as is.
I think it was decided when they get back to replace the converter
charger with a Progressive Dynamics converter/charger and change out
the generator transfer switch??
Stay tuned for the continuing saga (G)
Thank you for your suggestions.

FWIW... We have a 30 amp, '98 HR Vacationer on a '97 Ford 460 chassis. The gen is an Onan Microlite 4000. We had dealer install a 2nd A/C unit on roof of bedroom area. Dealer installed a transfer switch under bedside cabinet. Either the bedroom or living area A/C can run but _not both at the same time_, whether on gen or shore power and have had no problems running one of the A/Cs plus TV and microwave. In fact, we often run the main A/C and a TV while exercising the gen or even when using a 20 amp extension cord to nearby building.
