Can you help?

I have recently set up my laptop to handle newsgroups using Outlook
Express (Windows XP). Using the standard settings recommended by
AT&T/BellSouth I have no problem reading newsgroups. However, when
I try to upload, I get an error message:

A big "Thank You" to all who tried to help. Unfortunately, nothing
worked.

Got BellSouth tech service involved, they tried for about an hour
without success, then referred me to Microsoft! I won't even go
there.

Next step is to find a news server that works regardless of the ISP I
may be connecting through. Any suggestions?

From what you said above, it is probably NOT the newsserver (read part), but
the newsserver SEND part (you can read news messages, but the problem is
replying or forwarding a message to email), and due to spam nowadays it's
very rare to find a free send server.

to send messages you usually have to log on to the server to send, check the
my isp requires me to log on, and not just use the username, check the box
to log on, but use the whole enchilada ie username@domain do NOT use the
shortcut of log on usng the same name as read (with no domain)... OE
specicifically claims that it will work without a domain, but it WILL NOT!

Up to you, want to find a free one, or just take 30 seconds to try and fix
what you already have?
