He is not only a top posting moron, but one that's ignorant of the
laws of physics. While the difference isn't dramatic and almost never
significant, it is true that there will be somewhat more torsional
stress on the trailer frame when the hitch point is lower.
It should not be a factor unless the trailer frame is marginally
strong to begin with AND you're involved in a collision. I used a
gooseneck setup with great success, and the only reason I don't
recommend after-market adapters to others is the FACT that (as noted
above) there is some small additional risk of failure.
Morons like Barker are blissfullly ignorant, as he confesses.

I concur, and those are the reasons I have not switched to an adapter. An adapter would allow me to eliminate any inconvenience of the slide system, and give me more room in the bed. But with the adapter being even more forward of the trailer frame than on a long bed, the stress on the trailer frame would be worse.
