Your first mistake is thinking that the US is a "formerly great
Mistake? I don't think so. This great country was far better before your
filthy Marxist vermin began infiltrating it...early 1900's or so I would
say.

Socialism has never breathed life and vibrancy into any economy. The only
thing socialism has ever done is kill millions and ruin economies--and by
extension, the folks that use/are that economy--and run them into the
ground. In all of history, socialism has NEVER spread prosperity and
well-being, it has only succeeded in spreading misery and poverty. Witness
North Korea, Cuba, Laos, Vietnam, or any of the other third-world socialist
shitholes. Point out any one of them that's got a vibrant, free-market
economy. Go ahead. Take your best shot.

country". Doesn't that sound like the "hate America" crowd that you
right wingers love to loathe by calling "Liberals"?
No, not at all. I was pining for the great America that is slowly being
ground into destitution of socialism under the wheels of your ilk. You
simply denigrate America as a personal value judgment. Name for me any one
of your "watermelon" Americans that's done anything *for* the welfare of
America? (A "watermelon" American is one that's green on the outside and
red on the inside). Go ahead. Tell me how pulling out of Iraq is an
"advantage" to America? Tell me how voting to kill or delay new weapons
systems is an "advantage" to America? Tell me how taxing us into
destitution is an "advantage" to America? Go 'head...we're waiting...

Just when do you think the country was truly "great", before Johnson,
FDR, or child labor laws?
When the folks that built it out of the ashes of British imperialism made it
the great country that became *the* power that liberated a large part of the
world during 2 great wars and the cold war. That fed and clothed those
ravaged by those wars. That became a ready market for their rebuilding
economies, and allowed them to blossom--free from the same kind of Communist
lifestyle that you so yearn for--under our nuclear umbrella. The country
that was found upon freedom, liberty, and justice for all. Quite a change
from the marxist themes you find so comforting.

Do you think Congress was "great" back when they were mostly members
Congress has almost always been a herd of self-serving elitist thieves.
Where a union-puke is a thief holding a contract to your throat, congress is
a thief holding legislation to our throats. Not much of a difference from
my point of view...

of "Credit Mobilie'" (sp), building the railroads, or before they
freed the slaves? HawHawHaw!
If you and yours were for slavery, that's your problem. I and mine weren't.
We escaped the slavery of communism.

Just exactly when was the country "great", Mr. Smarter than us bottem
feeders?
In this NG you have never been regarded high enough to be a bottom-feeder.
You and your ilk are so far beneath contempt that such a label would elevate
you too much.

You sound like a "Robber Baron, wishing the "good old days" were
And you sound like the joyous socialist that just knows that taking more
from the workers for your benefit is just peachy keen with you.

still here, when politicians knew who their bosses were!
Before we continue with this discussion, perhaps you'll tell us just
what time you want to go back to, when this country was "great"?
Already answered. Now if only you had enough sense to actually understand
any of that...<big sigh!>
