late '60s and early '70s so OBVIOUSLY I have cared about the planet a
LOT longer than you have.
Put your money where your mouth is. Buy some marginal farmland, pay
taxes on it and restore it to wildlife cover. My sons have invested
thousands in 320 acres of farmland and sold conservation easements to
the state. No more farming. They use it for a few weekends of hunting
each year. They could lease hunting land for a tiny fraction of what
they have spent. Emulate their behavior and you'll have a stump to crow
on. Otherwise you are just another windbag who won't put his money
where his mouth is.

It always has. So has overgrazing by large numbers of wildlife,
epidemics caused by over abundance of waterfowl, lemming migrations and
plagues of locusts and grasshoppers.

proud of you. i'm doing something too, but i'm not going to play the
"i'm greener than you" game. if we all make reasonable changes we can
make a difference. you don't have to plant acres of trees. i'm using
halogen lights, driving my 10 year old car that gets 40 MPG, turning
lights off, and supporting organizations that are lobbying to make the
big polluters change their practices.
Are you lobbying for more nuclear reactors? More wind farms? Cheap
solar panels?

You might go back to 1967 when our Sportsman's club in Michigan took on
Ford and General Motors to clean up the Huron River and Belleville Lake.
As far as I'm concerned the loudest voices are now the

i'm lobbying for wind, solar, and conservation. i'm not convinced that
nuclear is the answer because we haven't figured out what to do with
the waste. it outlives any container you could put it in. but it
probably could be a part of a new energy policy. i believe that "clean
coal" is not the answer, nor is drilling. my opinion, yours may be
different. the point is that we ARE damaging the planet, and we need
to do something about it. i don't think that letting industry insiders
write the energy bill (like cheney did) is the answer.

Hoo boy! Another one who finds fault with the VP consulting energy experts but probably found no problem with Hillary consulting the health care experts. Who spent the most taxpayer money? Cheney hatched an egg but Hillary never did.

Can you tell us what you find at fault with Cheney's meeting results?

If you weren't born in 1967, you probably don't remember gas lines and empty pumps. When that happens, the public doesn't give a rat's ass where the gas comes from, just so it's there when they need it.

If I asked this question while polling, what do you think the results would show?

"If leaving Iraq resulted in $5/gal gas and staying results in $3/gal gas should we stay or leave?"

Pollsters won't ask this question because they already know the answer.
