Hunter, and anyone else who owns a 95-03 Ford truck with the 7.3
Power Storke diesel, Ford has recalled them to replace the Cam
Positioning Sensor.
CAMSHAFT POSITION (CMP) SENSOR INSPECTION / REPLACEMENT Recall Code:
07S57
Ford has finally admitted that there is real problem. There have
been 14 accidents related to this.
14 accidents in 13 years with how many million miles driven. Yup
that's a REAL problem.
If you are one of the 14, and it were to be a fatal accident, yes
it would be a real problem.
What is your magic number where it becomes a problem?
You can't get out of this life alive.
I will reiterate my thought here - one accident per year (no numbers given
for deaths), out of millions of vehicles, and many millions of miles driven,
in NOT a serious problem. More people die from falls in bathtubs every year
than from problems with Ford's camshaft position sensor. Lets be serious,
if there is a defect, it would be nice if Ford fixed it, however, one
accident per yearis not a problem worth any special effort.
