I encountered this problem of the batteries not getting a good charge
from my solar panels (have 2 of em, about 2 x 4.5 size) and just
replaced the batteries with new ones connected by a pro installer.
after that its still not holding a charge.

im wondering if anyone has any suggestions from experience....? were
heading out to dry camp soon and it would be a bummer to not have
energy especially in the desert.

THANKS guys!!!

Your two solar panels are probably putting out about 3 amps each and you are using more amps than they are able to replace.

Do some adding up of what you are using so you have an idea of how many amps you will need to replace it. More than likely you will need more panels or a small generator.

Or maybe the panels do the job well in the summer and not in the winter. Less sun hours in the winter...plus the sun light is not directly above. Maybe tilt the panels towards the south to get more exposure.

Nate

Definitely less sun time in winter unless you keep moving south into the southern hemisphere.

Also you certainly want to keep the panels at right angles to the sun.

A furnace running at night will probably take more juice than 2 panels can replace the next day.
