Never heard that one. What is the translation?Right, but Esposa won't let me date. :)Do you remember the German word "Pantoffelheld"?

Bet nobody called you that when you lived in Germany.
<G>
I often heard the expression "I see you brought the brakes along".

A "slipperhero" is a husband who "steht unter dem Pantoffel" is under the slipper of his wife. IOW, someone who does not have the courage to be his own man, but is told by his wife what and what not to do, a henpecked husband.

In today's language...PUSSYWHIPPED.
LZ
Except that the translation is inaccurate. Pussywhipped means total subordination to the female in order not to be cut off from sex.
A henpecked husband usually couldn't care less about sex, he just wants the infernal nagging to stop. A very bad way to die.
We used to tease a wealthy friend who had 2 hunting leases I was allowed to hunt. He was a millionaire but his wife had him on an allowance of 5 DM per day, about $1.25 in those days. He smoked and loved brandy so I'd bring a good supply when we went hunting. I wouldn't have called his wife a nag but she was definitely the dominant character in their household.
BTW, today was St. Hubertus Day, patron saint of hunters. In Germany they held big drive hunts today unless things have changed drastically. I played an old 8MM film converted to video of a drive hunt I participated in in 1966. Found it last week. Most of the others who were there have died since then. Lots of good memories of those days though.....
