I don't mean to perpetuate spam. I did cut out his URL in this reply.. This free deal kind of interests me. I went to the site and I can't figure out what the catch 22 is. Seems to good to be true. Besides the google ads on the main subscribe page, how is this company making any money if they just give their hosting service away.. Says they don't make you carry any ads on your site. Does anyone else see the catch? I sure don't. Just seems to me there has to be a catch.

I too was interested and went to the site.. quite a few different types of offers.. it seemed to me the one above was like free for 30 days, then $7.95 a month??
Anyway I then googled 'free web hosting' and found there is much to choose from.. got busy and put it in the 'later' file..
For damn sure ain't gonna get one from the spammer, but I am going to pursue it.. I don't like google blog, don't know how to get it in the order I'd want, like it would be on a web page..
Please anyone with free [or lo-cost] web space, let us here know what you are doing.. it'd be appreciated I'm sure by many..
I use 1&1. See 1and1.com. Choose Web Hosting for a lookie-loo. I've been with them for over two years.
I have the 1&1MS Home Account. It's $4.99/month paid bi-annually. For that I get my domains paid for (no Go-Daddy or some such), 120gb of web space and 1,200 email accounts for my domains. You also have web mail access for those times you are away from your own computers.
You can get it either in Microsoft flavor or Linux flavor. For most users, there is little difference. I support my domain and my daughter's domain.
You have your choice of web building software. I use my own and manage with FTP access.
It will also support blogs. You either let the system set one up for you or roll your own. I use Wordpress and manage mine own.
The service is rock solid for both web and mail. Most importantly, I get no more than one email from them per month offering some new service.
Mine is at www.bdthompson.net
